Each year, since 1994 NAPO has presented the TOP COPS Awards® Ceremony. The purpose of the TOP COPS Awards® is to educate the American public about our nation’s heroes and to pay tribute to law enforcement officers in federal, state, county, tribal and local agencies from across the country for actions above and beyond the call of duty during the preceding year. The TOP COPS are nominated by fellow officers. An independent Awards Selection Committee comprised of national law enforcement representatives select, from hundreds of nominations, one TOP COP case from each of the 50 States and U.S. territories. Officers from the top ten cases are selected as the TOP COPS Award® Winners.
11-year veteran, Officer Greg Milburn from the Indianapolis Metro Police Department was among one of the officers that was honored with the TOP COPS Award at the 22nd Annual National Association of Police Organizations’ Awards Ceremony held on May 12th in Washington, DC.
Officer Milburn was wearing a Point Blank vest last year when he was shot twice during the line of duty. We are honored to have had the opportunity to have Officer Milburn and his wife Jennifer tour our Pompano Beach facility last December along with our Officer Saves from 2014. We thank Officer Milburn for his outstanding service and dedication in protecting his community and applaud him and the recipients of the TOP COPS Awards for their exceptional police work.
